The practice has been based at Godswell Lodge in the centre of Bloxham since 1995 and following several very long years in temporary accommodation, we moved in Spring 2001 into a new purpose-built surgery in The Bourne, Hook Norton.
Our aim is to provide a high standard of patient care within a friendly and caring environment. The practice philosophy couples traditional ideals of caring in general practice with a modern approach to patient choice and an open mind on complementary therapies. Patients are welcome to take advantage of surgeries and facilities at both sites.
At Bloxham Surgery we have a dispensary and a complementary therapy centre. Bloxham Dental Surgery is in an adjacent building.
Patient information will not be disclosed without that person’s consent. The duty of confidentiality owed to a person under 16 is as great as the duty owed to any other person. All patients can expect that their personal information will not be disclosed without their permission (except in the most exceptional circumstances when disclosure is required when somebody is at grave risk of serious harm). Patient information is held within the practice according to data protection legislation. We may need to share information with other professionals involved in your care within the NHS.
Information shared for the purpose of research or health promotion is not identified to individuals. Patients have right of access to their own records and we are always happy to arrange this on request.
We operate a practice complaints procedure as part of the NHS system for dealing with complaints. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the practice please do not hesitate to bring the matter to the attention of our Practice Manager, Fiona Jefferies.
We hope that if you have a problem you will use our complaints procedure as this will give us the best chance of putting right whatever has gone wrong and an opportunity to improve our practice.
Our complaints information leaflet is available from reception. It is your right to approach the local Primary Care Trust, if you feel you cannot raise your complaint with us or you are dissatisfied with the result of our investigation. We are keen to hear any suggestions, we have a suggestion box in both waiting rooms or please speak to Fiona Jefferies or the reception staff.
Violent or Abusive Patients
In common with other NHS providers we have a zero tolerance policy towards Violence and Abuse. Any patient who is violent or abusive towards doctors, nurses, staff or other patients may be removed from our patient list.
GP Net Earnings
All GP practices are required to declare the mean net earnings (eg. Average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. This is required in the interests of the greater public accountability recognising GP pay is ultimately funded from tax paid by the public.
